PAP Plate Carriers Part 4: Type 15

The Type 15 was first seen worn by the Snow Leopard Commando Unit during the 2015 China Victory Day Parade. The vest is one of the most expensive and is commonly used by higher tier units. It is structurally similar to the PLA Type 06 SF and an improvement over the Warrior Vest. The Gen 1 model has two quick-release straps that can only separate the shoulder straps while the Gen 2 has a tab hidden inside the cummerbund that can separate the vest more completely. The new Gen also adds optional side armor. Unlike other PAP vests, the Type 15 lacks the large velcro panels for identification patches and instead uses small detachable reflective tabs for night operations. It is very modular thus can have the groin and neck guards removed for more mobility.
