Introduction to PLA Infantry Weapons:
The infantry arms of the People’s Liberation Army has an extremely diverse history. Back during the Second World War II, there was the use of captured Japanese arms, alongside indigenous designs and foreign-purchased versions. The Cold War saw the introduction of Russian styled arms. Today, the Chinese military uses a domestic design, differing from both the post-Communist and Western camps, while at the same time drawing influence from both.
This is useful for MilSim, as it allows players to use a variety of different replicas. Since there are no Airsoft versions of the QBZ-95, its export 97 version is usually used instead. AKs can be used as stand-ins, and because China reverse-engineers so many different arms around the world, it’s entirely possible to use even an M4 as an appropriate replica.
Below you will find a list of guns. This is by no means a completed list. It merely serves as an introductory guide for arms in regards to a PLA impression.
